Water is a paradox, peaceful yet invigorating, both life-giving and life-threatening. My photographs in this fine press book embrace these contradictions. Water is a character, restorative and vital in all its forms. My background as a physical therapist and physiologist informs my artistic approach. Observing the anatomy of water, I am drawn to reflections, refractions, textures, and layers of light and color. In some of my more abstracted images, I often imagine a part or whole of a human figure, appearing from within the shadows and layers.
